I picked up a chrome voltage regulator for less than half price on ebay. It is brand new, but the box was opened and instructions gone. I assume its just plug and play but I thought I would throw out this question before the swap.
Anything I should know about BEFORE i START???
I am great with mechanics but I am a dumbass with electrical. Can anything bad happen here?
Piece of cake. Remove seat, disconnect battery ground cable. Unplug old reg., the black wire is routed under the gas tank and into the electicl panel behind a cover panel held on with 4 nuts ( I think they are 1/2") the eyelet on the regulators wire that you ran under the gas tank goes to the circuit breaker, little nut, to the silver terminal post. The chrome rectangular cover next the coil is the electrical cover.

This is what I am replacing:
Why do I need to do all that? Cant I just plug and play?
OK.......This is the most useless thread in the forum. Sorry guys, I just needed some reassurance before I started unplugging things. This may have been the easiest job ever. Simple plug and play, 10 minute job........Looks Great!!!
Pics coming this weekend.
