I finally got some time and tried to install Jackals 2" lift on my 99 WG. After a small bit of wrestling I get it into place only to find out it doesn't fit! The "tabs" on my tank stick out too far on the bottom and hit the lift. Anyone else run into this and figure out a way around it besides cutting the tank tabs?
Sorry guys, I was holding it in the picture backwards. I run into the problem with it facing the correct way as well. I know someone had this issue before, I think Mudpuddle cured it by cutting the tabs and I think I remember someone modifying the back of the tank where the bolts sit.
Dude Jackyl will work with you to fix it, he went way out of his way for me to help me out when my lift didn't fit my FXD. He sent me a new one, custom modded, at no charge whatsoever.
You should have probably sent him a PM before posting this....

I gave my dad a 2" Jackyl lift for his 99' Wide Glide. I know his didn't bolt right up like mine did, but I'm not sure what he did to 'fix' it. It's almost midnight, so I can't call to ask - but I will tomorrow. Stay tuned and I'll let you know what he did - but I'm quite certain he didn't grind on the tank tabs...
Have an 06 WG and a 2" lift. had to rat tail file the rear of the tank rear mounting tabs because my triple tree bolts were slightly hitting the tank and I also couldn't turn the forks enough to lock them. Anyway, a few back and forths and I was able to bring the tank back slightly now all is well. My 2" lift fit like a glove and I added chrome acorn nuts on both sides.
