2009 FXDB Headlight Housing Disassembly
I know, I know, I need to buy a shop manual, but in the meantime, I wanted to get my headlight housing on my '09 FXDB refinished (semi-gloss black housing, gloss black on trim ring) and was curious as to how easy it is to disassemble the headlight housing. I wanted to separate the trim ring from the bucket housing and remove all the internal wires and light element to send off just the bucket and trim ring for coating. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, in advance..
take off the trim ring, slide out the lense, push the two little clips on the side of the plug... unplug the headlight... cut the wires leavign you enough room to solder them back in after you get your bucket back from PC... you can also unclip the wires form the plug, and pop out the rubber stopper you can feed the wires though that way as well... in which case you do not have to solder.. both work... some people just send me the whole lamp wiht wires and all... so i just find it easier and faster for me to just cut and solder...
