hey guys... i just swapped out my fluids and noticed a bit of run off on the plug deal i got wth my forward controls... I did not think much of it... wiped it off... and this morning noticed it is back... so it looks like i need to replace it... However, it has been a few years since i did my forward controls... any ideas with something i can plug this sucker up with? i can not remember what the plug even was?!
Maybe get an (or replace the) O-ring to go around the plug you've got in the hole ....
I changed my engine oil, filter, transmission fluid and primary fluid last week; and, at first was getting two really slow leaks developing just aft of the drain plug and just below the inspection cover where I had cut off the mid-control shift lever. I stuffed a rubber stopper in the end of the tube and replaced the primary gasket, tower gaskets (mine has two),the inspection cover gasket, and the O-ring for the drain plug, and refilled it with oil ... it's been three days and it's dry ... so, I think that fixed my issue ....
If you only have one qt of fluid or less in the primary, you should be able to take that cover off without losing any fluid if the bike is standing upright. Throw it on your motorcycle jack and it should be fine. It is an inspection cover

If you're talkin about the plug or cap where your mid shifter used to come out of the primary it's the little round gasket (sticky on one side) inbetween the inner & outer primary...if that's the one you mean? Real easy fix!
