I have a dyna and a softail, and I view my dyna as the cheap one. Sorry guys, flame on.
I guess I just don't get it. I had the option (cost wise) of getting a Softtail (almost bit on the X-Bones), but have always want the Bob. My best bud has had a Night Train and a Street Glide. I have ridden both, and in no way see how those bikes are "more" than mine. Just confused on the issue I guess. Expecially the Night Train. I can see how you might pay more for hard bags and music, but the engine size is even the same? So I just don't get it, but that's just me.

I think 99% of us here can agree that it's all a matter of taste as to what we consider "the best bike". There are some softails I'd never want and there are a few Dynas that I love. Neither one is better than the other really when it comes down to it, just a matter of the riders preference.

Exactly, if I had the $$$ besides my FXDC, my pick for softail would be the Deluxe and for touring would be the Road King.
I've never heard anyone say that about a DYNA, it's usually the sportster guys that get that. Around here Dyna's are known as the Fast harley cause they dont have a a lot of stuff on them and have a light frame. The Hell's angels and Red Devils have big chapters here and 99% of them ride Dyna's so thats most of what people see around here so nobody talks crap.
i guess i just do not take offence to this... i have a completely tricked out dyna... and have less into it then what most people pay for thier bikes off the floor... i do all my own work and YES i am CHEAP... so i would have said... "thanks, what time is your mom coming to pick you up" then play the whole milf deal.... momma's love harleys!
I'd be ripping on the dad, not his kid. He's probably one of those high class up-turns that drives a damn Escalade EXT with a big ole' Harley sticker across the back glass and gets his bike out twice a year to parade it around the neighborhood before it gets dark so it won't get bugs on it. Like father, like son. It's not even the comment about your bike being "cheap", it's that the putz came into your house and dissed one of the things you're most proud of. No respect. Is it legal to boot stomp other people's children yet??

One comment and you know the whole story. I can tell you in my teenage years I said dumb things without thinking that were no reflection on my parents, who raised me right, at all. He's a kid for crying out loud. His dad might be the way you think or he might ride 30K miles a year and make you look like a puss. Either way no one can know from one comment made by a teenager.
