Default Main Shaft problems?

I had the dealership replace the Stator and Rotor on my '06 Streetbob as a precaution against the problems others with early '06 dynas have had, and discovered that the main shaft is deeply scored. Anyone had problems like this? Know anything about it? Jay

Probably too much runout. Lots of Harleys have way too much runout.

The mechanic said the bearings and races were deeply scored by heat... and I'm wondering if that had to do with the Inner Primary Bearing Harley replaced at 10,000 miles. It was 2 years ago, but maybe the main shaft bearing and race wasn't looked at when they replaced the IPB? Does that make sense? Jay
