06 superglide
I am looking at a superglide at a dealer here that has just barely over 15,000 miles on it. I read on a forum that there are some transmission bearing issues out there on some bikes. Harley said to change the bearing at 15,000 and later said no need. After reading some of the comments about that, I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to get it or not. Would like to get some input on this.
The '06s have issues with that bearing and also the 2 piece rotor/stator for the alternator. But knowing those upfront is always a good thing.
Depends on what the dealer is asking for it, and has that dealer installed a new bearing as part of selling it, and addressed the faulty rotor?

its the inner primary bearing thats an issue on the 06 dynas..ask the dealer if they will replace it if you buy the bike... the stator has also been an issue on the 06 and some 07 dynas...i would ask if them to change that to the improved model as well...
't'ain't just the IPBearing/race...it's an alignment issue. They replaced my bearing/race at 3900-mi. and it went out again (12.5K). This time they're also replacing the IPCase & Transmission Case (and tranny bearings) with the '07+ parts (these have 2 alignment dowels the '06's don't). Search my threads for "Finally, Good News..." and "Inner Primary Bearing...", both within the last month.
