You get a really crappy sound after punching out the baffle (if you're able to accomplish it cleanly in the first place). The good? You have a mod done for free

If all you're after is a throatier exhaust sound that is just a little bit louder than stock, then drill out the rivets, pull the baffles, and remove the fiberglass packing. Then put the baffles back in and secure with new rivets.

If you want your bike to sound like **** and and run like ****, then just remove the baffles altogether.

If you want your bike to sound "odd," then leave the baffles in but use a hole saw to remove the plug in the center of the baffles.

good: gets real loud and sounds great to me and everyone told me it did too! but got to loud to be a good neighbor

bad:MPG drops a little but not much (a tuner may fix that)

to take the baffles out you just need to drill out the 3 rivets on each pipe end then grab the baffle and twist and pull and it will come right out. some sort of spray to help it losen up might help. only took me 15 min to do

I have read people posting in other threads about removing baffles takes away your back pressure while this is true of most models it is not 100% true of the fatbob, the fatbob has a catalytic converter just before the mufflers.

The good = NOTHING! The bad = 1. May sound like ****. 2. Loss of hp/tq.

I drilled mine out with the hole saw. Sounds way better than it does stock. Who cares about the horsepower loss. if anything it's only like 2 hp. The thing is scary fast enough! Do it you won't regret it

If it is a new bike it will get a little louder over time... And a little deeper tone...
