Can i run without idle cable

Getting new apes put on but havent found idol cable yet and I'm wanting to ride this weekend, was wondering if it's possible?

The Idle Cable is a relatively new invention (eh past 20-30 years new), you'll be fine to run with out it for a bit (or probably ever). It's only real use is to make the throttle feel better and as a safety measure if the throttle return spring breaks. If the spring breaks you always have the clutch to pull in...

My idle cable broke at the begenning of last winter, I rode almost everyday until about 2 weeks ago with out it. (trying to get the dealer to warranty it), I finally broke down and paid for the new cable and installed it. I had NO PROBLEMS, just the throttle doesn't return to idle postion, You have to turn it back as well. The spring will return the carb or throttle body back.
