my question is how do i get the filter out of the casing, i dont want to crunch it try to gorilla it out, the chrome backing plate has double sided adhesive on it

Ditto this. About 2K on the filter and it is looking yellow as though it's drying out. I don't ride it with it's "panties" on, so maybe that dries it out? Don't know if it's consistent, but I saw a dyno run somewhere that showed @ a 5 HP less if the filter was "dressed"

OOooPs thankyou BBerck I guess I'll get the kit as it has been at least 4000 mi since installing last september!

Same here, I decided to do mine every 1K. I don't use the rain sock as we don't have a rain "problem" here in Phoenix and mine gets very dried out very quickly, especially the part facing the sun. Not sure what the rain sock does or does not do for performance.
