plugs are cheap....buy some new ones.....wire brushing them can leave metal deposits on the insulator and short them out
X1, especially when your using them for analyzing system health. You can brush off the crud, but you can't really change the color. I would also suggest a new set.
X2 on the new plugs. Autolite 4164's work well, Advance Auto or AutoZone should have them. Avoid Champion RA8HC's, you have to bend the ground strap quite a lot to get a 0.040" gap.
I run the autolite 4164's and love them. Have had them since 1,000 miles and have 19,300 on my bike now. I clecn them with a wire tooth vrush and brake clean every oil change. and check the gap.
I usually replace mine at every 5,000 mile oil change. They are cheap and besides, they look so damn pretty sitting in the jugs all sparkly clean. Women like clean plugs on a man's bike.

Ha ha ha it almost sounds like you're equating a new plug to a *****. Does that fall under T.M.I?
But can your ***** fire up a 96ci bike? Women love when your spark is so hot and clean that it can make your bike come to life with a roar from your pipes. Well most women do anyways, my wife just yells at me to "Turn that damn thing off and quit making all that damn noise!"
haha seriously though I do change them every 5,000 miles which some may say is overkill but they are so damn cheap, why not?

If my 'thing' could do that, I'd be living in L.A. doing **** and screwing chicks like Jenna Jameson or Chasey Lain. Not working in I.T. and having to look at a crap load of fat bald guys who still live home with mommy.
True, it's one of those things that is probably right up there with chaning your oil. Simple maintenance stuff that'll keep your bike running good.
