If you want to get any kind of respectable power out of that bike you'll have to spend some serious coin. There's no two ways around it. Harley does not equal power.

nice bike, and in the best year...but then I'm a little biased perhaps
Welcome to the forum, DOUBLE-D-LOWRIDER. With a Harley Davidson, more power and low $ is an impossible combination. With free flowing intake and exhaust, you have already gained all of the cheap horsepower and torque that you can. The next horsepower gain will cost more and sequential gains will be even more expensive. So at the start, plan to spend the money and purchase the set up that will deliver the power and torque that you want to end up with? Even if you have to wait a while and save up the money, look around for a well-proven kit or established well-known combinations that will deliver the end improvements that you are looking for. In the end you will have the power that you seek and it will be less costly than doing it one jump at a time.
Is it carbed or EFI? Carbed will save you a little coin. Plant a money tree, water well and hope it bears big bills. Spend some time with an H-D parts guy/gal and visit the 2004 Screamin' Eagle Pro Racing parts catalog, this will give you an idea of what it will cost. I agree with fact that Harleys aren't known for their stock horsepower. Good luck with your adventure. Welcome to the forum.
Thanks all...i am wiiling to do it little by little..do have a few $
put away for the bike..wher would be a good place to start ?
Like i said i have those 211 cams sitting on the work bench..are they
worth pursuing ??..or should i look at starting somewhere else..
Thanks dd...what about the big bore kits out there on ebay..
95" cylinders w/matched forged wieco pistons...which are better
the standard compression ones or the higher ones...thanks again
Being an 88", you can do a 95" kit on it relatively inexpensively. Still gonna drop around 1g-1500 but that, a set of cams and some headwork will get you some respectable power gains.
I did a 95 inch kit on mine cams, ported heads, reworked carb, V&H big radius, SE ignition, etc. wish I could tell you it screams now. Fact of the matter is, I haven't been on the road yet since all the work. Check the sig picture... no brakes!!
