Default I want more power ! ! !

How do I go about getting more power from my 07 FXDB? I've already got a Thunderheader and a Hi-Flow air-cleaner and a re-map. I'm thinking heads, pistons, cams....etc. Any suggestions???

I've been thinking about this as well. My plan is to go low first. Cam (move the torque peak to around 3500 rpm), SE compensator, & lefty bearing.

What is it you are looking for in the bike? Looking for racing at the track, lots of low end torque and accleeration or just something that will do a burnout forever and let you ride a wheelie down the interstate?

You say you have a "remap" is that a stage 1 download or an all out full dyno tune with an actuall tuner that you purchased (SE Race Tuner, Power Commander, etc.)

If you dont have a race tuner....start there. Look at my sig and the numbers for the stock 96, THeader, and the SE Heavy breather. I noticed a BIG difference after my dyno and I am happy with it (for now at least).

There are sooooo many ways to add from here. Obviously a CAM is a must as the stock cam is made for EPA not big HP. Next is headwork...more air equals more HP as well....
Different pistons equal different compressions......equals more HP.
A larger bore....equals more HP (usually). Someone with a smaller bore with great heads, great cam, great pistons and a great tune will out perform someone with a larger bore and poor parts to match it.

To me it is all about how much are you willing to spend in parts and labor and also what do you WANT the bike to do. If you want to win every dyno shoot out and burn the tires and ride the wheelie for miles.......have a builder throw on a turbocharger or supercharger onto that thing and THEN I doubt you would be wanting MORE power. Figure out what you are searching for and how MUCH you are searching for. Several guys have 103 builds on here and ask them what they get and if they wish they would of changed to something bigger.

Goodluck

How much power are you looking for? The more you want, the greater it will cost. Look for a kit or upgrade package that is well known to produce a reliable and durable boost in torque and horsepower. If you are looking at a substantial increase then you may need to consider having the crank and lower end rebuilt. The stock flywheels on the Twincams will sometimes scissor or shift out of alignment on high performance builds. Going with an established, coordinated package of components will generally yield better performance than a do it your self guess on individual components. Consider your riding style and look for a set up that will deliver the performance in those areas.

Money is your only limiting factor. You can have as much power and torque as you can afford. Get references in your vicinity for both H-D dealers and independent shops that do hi performance work. 100 hp and 100 ft. lbs. of torque are usually the nirvana.

I just talked to my mechanic today about the same thing. For me next step up is cam set. then maybe up to head work. But I'm just lookin for a bit more powerful streetable bike. like mentioned above it all depends on what you want out of it, just remember a kick azz 1/4 mile bike generally sucks for daily riding.

I don't want a drag bike. I want to be able to still ride the thing and be comfortable on it. What about the 103ci kit? Who sells a good one and how much can that cost???

the HD 103 kit isn't bad just depends what cam you throw at it. Cams are designed to be affective in different rpm ranges. Some popular cams for the 96/103 is andrews 21/26/37 woods tw6 and I can't remember the other. I wanna say the tc-500 but don't remember mfg. Most of these are bolt-in cams. You can put em in, get a nice liitle boost and go from there.
