I nosed around underneath and found that the stand wasn't touching the primary, but the rubber wedge was rolled around a bit and the stand was hitting the frame.

I do use my heel to put the stand down, but I can't point my foot out very far - too many skiing/soccer/general phuckingaround injuries to my ankles and knees. I tried to take some pictures of what's happening. One is the scratches, the other is taken down, as I'm sitting on the bike, with foot reaching for the stand. Offending lace hook is outlined in yellow.

I have a nice gouge in my primary from the damn rubber bumper falling out of place. My Indie pointed it out to me. Good thing you can't see the mark. The bad thing is that i KNOW it is there!

I misunderstood your original question but hopefully I saved your primary from a scar.
