Sounds like you are visiting the wrong dealer.

Default Front mount

I bought this oil filter wrench to ensure no oil gets on my front mount.
My thought is the oil kills the rubber. Better safe than sorry.

I got my bike used and had to replace the front mount at 17,000. But it was covered with oil. The center was separated from the sides. Had to take it off to see that it was bad. I warsh the mount everytime I change the oil.

I know exactly what you mean. I got down to look at another Street Bob to see where the little rubber bumper for the jiffy stand was attached because mine had fallen off and I needed another one. The female sales lady acted like I was trying to commit some crime and asked me what the hell i was doing. I told her I was just trying to see where the rubber bumper attached and she acted like she didn't believe me.
Weird.

My rear mount went south at about 11k.Front one appeared to be fine, rear one fell apart.I ended up changing both since the guy I got them from sent me the front by mistake and then sold me the rear, which I needed, for half price.Paid 80 bucks for the front,40 for the rear.Got 'em on ebay.New,in the package.

On every dyna I have ever ridden (Im on my 3rd one now); motor mounts went bad between 25,000 and 30,000 miles. I do a lot of extreme climate rides.. desert and mountains . I think the cold weather here in montana just kills rubber dead. I am expecting to have to change them out in my 3rd season of riding due to the cold. It would be wonderful to be wrong.

well, some positive post's.
had my 2011 fxdc for 15 month's, 8k on the clock.
motor mount's are fine.
i got my feeler gauge's out, 20 thou gap cold, 30 thou gap hot(measured after being ridden).
i think the fm, specifies 30 thou, inbetween the rubber and the top of the mount.
checked and rechecked over the 15 month period, all is well.
i did find a small twig stuck in between there once.
feeler gauges got it out.

i have read all the it's going to fall to bit's, cam tensioner's , compenstor's,wheel bearing's, oil pump spring to soft, post's etc, etc.
all those post's can get you crazy!!!
my advice, read the manual it's a reliable source of information, check as required and don't panic.
grumpy.

I began to notice an increased amount of vibration in my 2010 FXDC at idle, and around 2800 -3300 rpm. The vibration was noticeable in the bars and mids, and was not speed related. The vibration wasn't severe, but it's more than I've become used to since I've had the bike (8K miles). Since it is still under warranty (bought it new), I decided to let the dealer take a look, and they replaced both mounts. I expected them to replace the front, but I'm sure since it was a warranty deal, they went ahead and did both. The additional vibration I was noticing is gone, and it vibrates like normal again.
