Default Ordered a set of Ohlins today.....

Hey everyone,

I have been researching rear shocks and today I decided to go on ahead and order a set of Ohlins remote reservoir shocks for my '09 Fatbob. I am hoping it will help get rid of the harshness to the ride(which I am sure it will). I guess I'll be looking into what to do to the front next. Gosh does it ever end. LOL!

Any advice for the install? THanks.

install is easy as long as you have a lift/jack. The Ohlins are great.

yeah I have a table lift and a scissors jack to go underneath so I should be ok. I'll probably leave the forks alone until this fall.

Plz take pics when done.

I went with a black spring. I don't know how long it will be until they are built/shipped but will probably hear something in the next day or so. I imagine it will be a couple weeks until I get them in my hands and installed.

Very cool, where did you order them from? Was it online or at a local shop?

I ordered them from Howard at Motorcyclemetal.com. He is very knowledgeable and will take the time needed to get you exactly what you need. I ordered them yesterday, they are going to be built today and shipped today. Can't beat that.

I've got a set of 13" works shocks coming for my DWG. Good suspenders make a difference. I've got a good bit of travel in the front forks of my DWG so tuning the damping rate is all I'll do up front.

yeah I'm trying to figure out what the best solution is for the forks. If Ohlins had replacement fork tubes I would likely go that route because the OEM forks don't have any compression or rebound adjustment. I spent last night reading up on a product called Ricor. I don't know if I am going to go that route or racetech. So far that seems to be the only two solutions.
