i have a fxdc with stage one done and am wondering what is a good or best cam to use in this motor? was told by dealer that se 211 or 255 is too high lift and that i need to stay below a .510 lift. any help would be great. thanks. also will swapping cams kill engine life?
Woods TW6-6, Headquarters 0034 or Andrews 37H are all good drop in cams, I went with the 37H for $228.00 Big Boyz has a nice site to compare http://bigboyzheadporting.com/tccams.htm
I have no personal experience with it but everything I've read or heard about the Woods TW6-6 has been very good.....If/When I'm in the market for a cam it will be the way I go

Yes...all three of these are great choices, all produce very well!
What kind of numbers could you expect with these cams? High 80's..maybe 90's? I know it also depends on your setup but i just plan on doing the the stage 1 a/c and keep using my cycle shack slip ons til i can afford a good 2-1 exhaust
A SE211 is .510 lift, but a SE255 is a hi-lift version of a 211 to put some mid-range back in. The 211 is considered a revvy, toppy cam.
I like the Andrews 37H in mine, some tuners say "the 37 may not be the right cam but it's never the wrong cam." I take this to mean that it's a good all round cam - it gives more in mid and upper without losing any/much down low. It has good manners and won't cause any problems with durability. The spec on this cam is very similar to a SE204 but with a couple more degrees LSA so it's got more top end punch theoretically.
The R&R525 could be a good option but I've never used one.
Numbers for HP and TQ - dunno but it will feel good.
Would you notice much difference on a stock bike with just stage 1? Would like to add a bit more oomph, just not sure I wanna go the 103" route, I like the idea of reliability and long engine life
