I have a small roll bag that mounts above the headlight. The small shield does a much better job than the roll bag against the wind and bugs. i find the shield is also easier to clean the bugs off.

this is awesome! exactly what ive been looking for. damn why didn't i thin of this. I do sometimes mount my rain gear in that spot but its not too effective.

how tall are you and what was the final overall hight?

A few more post and you will be able to see pictures.

To the OP that looks great. I would bet that if you made it slightly smaller than the outside shape of your handlebars, you could drill several holes on each side and mount it with cableties. I think it would be just about invisable.

I had given up and gone oppisite big and old school with chrome trim and blacked out bottom. Thanks for posting.
