Dealer mech says...

Went to the dealer the other day to have them listen the the "ping" on my bike. The mech said he thought it was coming from the primary, possibly the belt. He said it sounded a little loose. Is this something I could do myself? Has anyone does this before and how hard is it? Thanks.

It is an 03, no warranty.

There ain't no belt in your primary. There's a chain in there.

I think he meant primary and/or drive belt. Before you take anything apart u need to isolate the noise source. Unfortunately we cant help with that.

If the bike makes the noise when it's sitting and not moving, it's not the belt. Probablt the primary chain. Check to see if it's out of adjustment. It's an '03 and the chain could've stretched.
