Looking at a 84 FXRP. Only thing I have found out so far is it is an FXR police. Any comments on these bikes would be helpful!
Moving from a rubber mount 1200 Custom and don't know anything about the Dyna's.

I am sure I won't be the first to point out that an FXR is not a Dyna! The Dyna is known as an FXD and succeeded the FXR, which it is said was replaced because the frame was too expensive to make. It is also said the frame was designed by no less than Erik Buell and is commonly thought to have been the best handling Harley.
So any FXR is a good choice, especially if it is in good condition, or you are prepared to make it that way. I can't help thinking that a Police model is likely to be very well used!
That bike will have an early Evo motor, so I suggest you pop over to the Evo forum and get some background info there.
