When you do the rears you will be moving the wires around. They need to be tucked in the brackets under the fender when you finish. If you leave one loose it will rub the tire on the first good bounce and cause you electrical issues.
Don't ask how I know.
You weren't lying. I tucked the wires behind the bracket, but it eventually came loose and the tire rubbed right through the wires on the right hand side. The left side is okay, it was just the right side.
I had to add about 4" of new wire to fix it. I used the heat shrink tubing to protect the new wiring, just to be safe. All is well now and I even used electrical tape to hold the wires to the bracket. Hopefully this will prevent them from coming loose in the future.
Just had a brilliant idea after reading this. If you're using heat shrink tubing and need to route wires out of the way, you could use a lenght of thick wire like a piece of coat hanger inside the shrink tube to give it a stiff fixable structure.
