Default I would like to know....

what the difference between "stage 2" and "stage 3" is. Since I am not increasing displacement with my build, but I am doing cams and head work will mine will be a "stage 2.5" oh wait, I'm keeping my SEII with BCT baffles and not going with a new full exhaust so will it be a "stage 2.25" oh wait I am adding a PC3 so will it be a "stage 2.37"

I always thought that stage 2 was Cams and heads and stage 3 was increasing the displacement.

But, I've heard people put heads under stage 3...

Stage 1 is air cleaner and exhaust. Stage 2 would be stage 1 with cams. and stage 3 would be stage 2 with head work. If you do a google search that's basically what youll get out of it. Displacement does not have to increase to change stages.. Ex. a stage 3 96" motor would be air cleaner, exhaust, cams and head work with no displacment change needed. If you went to 103" and did all the same work you would have a stage 3 103" motor. Atleast thats how I read and understand it and that also makes the most sense to me...Just my .02

Edit:and im pretty sure stage 4 is like adding a turbo and such

I'm running a stage 2 and think the only differences between the 2 & 3 are higher lift cams & heads. Stage 4 has bigger cams and bigger heads, and possibly a throttle body. I'm changing my cams in a few weeks and basicelly will be at a stage 4 w/o the throttle body. From what I was being told by quite a few indy's & dealers, the stock throttle body is more than capable of handling a 103" and none of them use them unless it's 110" or higher.
