"Always check the size markings on the tube to assure that the tire size appears on the tube. Do not fit tubes in radial motorcycle tires, nor fit radials on rims requiring tubes, unless the tubes bear matching size and radial (R) markings."
I could not pass inspection @ 7800 miles with a Screaming Eagle 180.
Local independent suggested I try the 407 170, he said it looks about the same(as far as width). and should get better milage as it is a dual compound tire developed for the Road Kings( much heaver bike)..
Well I tried it,, and 14000 miles later its still looks fair(I know but its 'da truth'), handling is much better in corners. Its willingnes to lean is far better than the 180. I figure I've got about 2000 more miles, but I ordered another from my indy, this weekend.
I'm going to put this new one on a Chrome Deuce wheel, and I will try it tubeless.. But for the last 14000 miles its been on spokes with a tube, No problems.. The best dyna tire ever!!
Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your Dunlop motorcycle
tire questions. The Dunlop D407, in the size 170/60R17, is not a
multi-tread (MT) compound tire. Also, do not mix bias ply and radial tires
on the same motorcycle unless it is with the approval of the motorcycle or
tire manufacturer.

They did not address my question of putting a radial on a spoked wheel. I called but I was transfered to voice mail. I have seen radial tubes for sale?
