All of the electronics seems to work, but when I try to start it, all I get is a machine gun-like repetitive sound from the starter, but the engine doesn't try to turn over.
Any ideas?
I checked the fuses, and they look fine. Could it be the starter relay? How do I test that?
Low battery charge seems unlikely. the headlight and all the instruments are working and extremely bright.
The started is trying very hard to do its job. Like i said, it sound like a machine gun. the engine isn't responding in any way. Its like the plugs aren't attempting to fire at all.
What kind of trouble codes (if any) are present? Does the engine ROTATE when you push the start button or does it just go "click-click-click" without the starter turning? Or is the starter turning but not rotating the engine but making a "clack-clack-clack"?

Its more than just a click-click-click. Its fairly loud and shakes the bike a little, so I'm going to assume that the starter is turning; its very much like a clack-clack-clack. I don't hear or feel the engine itself trying to turn over.
Trouble codes: what are they and how do I interpret them?

Sounds like the battery to me, could have a bad cell. Like previously mentioned, check the connection and if ok, pull it and load test it.

+ 10 weak battery dude! poor connection could be it, if the cables are tight boost her with your car. make sure you keep your car engine off,or just charge it with a batt chrgr and see later!
Wow what's going on today? you are the third guy today with the same problem! General question....why don't you tell us how often the bike is run, when it ran last, and what year it is?
