Default Service Manual for Dynas

All you new guys out there may want to get a service manual before you begin tearing into your bike. Zanotti's HD is a good discount source here:

http://www.zanottimotor.com/

I buy all my parts from them......

I will second how important it is to have the service manual. I would also add that the parts manual can be just as useful. It provides you with exploded views of the different assemblies that make up your bikes.

Good tip.

Bought my manual the day I picked up the forward controls. Made the install MUCH easier.

As a general principle (with vehicles...) I got the Factory Service Manual, Owner's Manual, Dyna Parts Manual, Clymer aftermarket manual, and will pick up another aftermarket if a good one shows up...!!!

Impossible to have TOO MUCH information!!! Often one manual will illustrate or discribe an item just a little bit differently than the others, and THAT is the difference between a befuddled look and an internally delivered "Oh!!! NOW I get it!!!).

Information... One of the best "Tools" one can have in his/her bag of tricks!!!

Jim aka kiltiemon (Who also downloads and prints tech articles from HD Forums and (for the Cage): Rennlist!!!

[sm=exactly.gif] I just hate to see anyone make a simple mistake that could cost them hundreds of $$$ when a $40 manual could have prevented it. Plus, I have learned to plan my work ahead of time by ordering ALL the parts ahead of time. That's why I like getting parts on-line days in advance. JMO

The first chapter of the manual is pretty much step by step for the 1000 mile service. It's not a rocket science.

Got mine right after I got the bike. Was extremely helpful when I installed the forward controls. It maps out all the services and is fairly consise. I do wish it would give you th actual tool sizes used for all procedures. Often it just says metric etc.
