I am trying to find out if anyone on this forum is a memeber of the 11-99 Foundation. I watched a segment on Am. Thunder last night concerning this foundatuon that helps Cal. Hwy Patrol Officers families when he or she is killed in the line of duty. I would like to purchase a shirt or possibly other items to help out as much as I can. I am retiring in July with 31 years of service, and by the grace of God I can do this. Any help is appreciated. I have went to the web sit but saw no location to purchase items if they even have items for sale. Any help is greatly appreciated.
all i know about the 11-99 foundation are the license plate frames. these cost 1800 bucks as far as i know, and you will see them only on Mercedes, Porsche, and other expensive as hell cars. these are basically get-out-of-all-ticket passes, and **** me off something fierce.
sorry, i know this is not what you are asking, and i believe the 11-99 foundation was started with the best of intentions, but i don't believe in the corrupt rich-getting-by culture it helps to create.
1800 bucks for a license plate frame? Damn. That's expensive. You mean $18.00?
nope $1800.00 US. Lifetime Supporter. You get a license plate frame and a little badge for your wallet to pin next to your license. I have heard of asses breaking 100 MPH and just getting off with a warning because of this ****.
I do believe that some people abuse these type programs, but the segments that were on explained about the fallen officers. I do not think that the Am. Thunder producers and executives would be stupid enough to allow it to air it with out investigating the program throughly. Just trying to get info to assist what ever way I can. Appreciate the feed back. It is hard to explain, but being a Police Officer, Fireman or any other public safety personel gets into your blood and you feel emotions for fallen comrades regardless where in the country it ocurs. If I stopped someone with this plate holder I would expect that person to be an upstanding individual and not use it for personel gains. If this occured he would get a ticket with out exception. Sorry about being on my soapbox today. Thought someone from Cal. or other officers would respond.

I lived in Cal until a month ago. As far as I know, goods (t-shirts, license plate frames, mugs, etc) are only provided for the high-level donations. Lessor donations are just that, but the high level donations get the goodies. That is my problem with it.
I understand how you feel about wanting to help though. I am sure that the foundation does GREAT work for the CHP community and the families of fallen heroes. I just have issues with those who use the charity not because they want to help, but because they want to drive their german sports car at 110 on I-95 without repercussions.
I, in no way, want to downplay what the 11-99 Foundation does for officers and their families.
Not any more. I'm a life member and got in at that price before they increased it to $5000.00! The change occured several years ago.
It's a good cause though. CHP have a tough job and I've never known them to be ball busters. The 11-99 Foundation provides widow/widower support for fallen officers and scholarships for their kids.
