Not only would some seats lift you up, but some take you back farther, too....so definitely look at that before spending $$$ for the forward controls.

Having put quite a few miles on a ninja myself. I would say that you are going to be really happy with the move. Keep the mid mounts and add some highway pegs. Even that stock seat is going to be more comfortable than the ninja IMO.

I am a pretty aggressive rider when it comes to taking turns. I use those mid mount pegs to put all my weight on the peg so I can hang off the side. While I would say the SB isn't quite as capable you will still be VERY happy with the stock performance/ comfortablity.

If at all possible, I would suggest keeping the ninja for track days.

I'd also vote for the highway pegs and keep the mids. I ride 95% of the time with my feet on my highway pegs. I shift with my left heel and operate the rear brake with my right heel. On a LONG ride I'll shift my feet to the mids every now and then for a different position and on a LONG ride I'll even fold down the passenger pegs sometimes and put my feet back there, so I have 3 different positions to work with. The back of my left boot where the shifter hits:

Gotta agree with Shag67. Passenger pegs are comfy too! Those heels are right there next to the controls when on the highway pegs.
Don't think I will ever switch to foreward controls with all these options..

Thanks again guys! You all have really made me do some thinking and research before dumping $$$$.

I wish I could keep the Ninja for some track time, however a friend of mine races his gixxer at PIR and found me an old school gixxer (86 750) for cheap we are going to aquire, build and maybe I'll get a chance to race it in the classic class.

+1 on the heel shift and heel braking. Works like a charm in boots or on the occasion short run in sneakers.

i am 32 inch and standard forwards work great. if you cramp up just use the passenger pegs to stretch out
