Default High Flow/V&H Fuelpack question

As much as I have made quite a few cosmetic and ergonomic changes to My 08 FXDC, besides the V&H straightshot slipons with the Quiet baffles the bike is mechanically stock. I was considering an HD " Heavy Breather " chrome intake and a V&H fuelpak . Any opinions on wether its worth spending the 600 bucks. ??? Thanks

you can buy a pcIII and a ness big sucker for just a bit more than $400.
not sure why you would pay $200 more for an inferior fuel management system and a goofy looking intake.

I actually like the look of the HB Its the reason for the Feulpak query .I don't care for the look of the Ness. I guess different strokes for different folks....But you are saying the PCIII is a better system ? thanks, Mark

sorry about my comments on the air cleaner - you're right - just personal opinion.

The fuelpak vs. pcIII is debated quite often here.
in MY opinion it's worth the extra $50 or so for the pcIII. it's infinitely more adjustable by the user. a lot of people here have bought the fuelpak only to toss it in favor of the pcIII, still - others think the fuelpak is sufficient, but most would disagree.
make sure you don't buy the pcIIIex. That one is epa approved and will not let you add fuel in certain ranges.
i'm guessing a search will get loads of info - but sometimes the search is wacky.

Thanks a lot, If the PCIII yeilds more possible adjustment then I agree, it would be the way to go.

you also should read up on the PCV which I think is smaller and has more future options. I have no knowledge of this unit - but others will probably chime in.

I have the fuelpak and on the throttle is good but surges in certain rpm ranges and pings sometimes. Called v&h and they said not related to the fuelpak, bike must have a problem. Funny thing is that I had a few guy's ride it and they say it seems like there is not enough backpressure(surging). Have the v&h turn down slip-ons. Changing out to PCV to be able to tune better and get the closed loop system. Originally bought the fuelpak because of the v&h pipes.

well thats sort of my questiojn too. it all revolves around the original Idea of changing the air intake. I was under rhe assumption that I would need to add more feul. I dont plan on any other engine mods in the future ,but was under the impression that I would need to ad a feul management system. I thought about having the dealer do a remap, but being that I would rather be able to control it myself If I thought it needed to be tweaked, and that the dealer would probably charge half of what a management system runs, I thought I'd just add one .
