Do you use same oil in Engine, tranny, and primary?

I worked for a company once that sold oil additives and they had a machine that tested how good a particular oil additive was since this machine had two bearings that ran against each other and would seize up in about 10 seconds with motor oil. They had their own oil additive that would seize up but it would take it at least two minutes. The thing I remember most was the Lucas oil additive would seize in just over 10 seconds. It was no better than motor oil really and is highly overrated.........
Mobil1 20W50 in crankcase, Mobile1 75/140 in Tranny and HD Formula+ in Primary. Whatever you use, change it once in a while. Used Castrol 20W50 for many years and never heard of Synthetic. Worked great.

The basic answer is 'yes'. That will "work" in all three holes.
Is it the best for all three holes, each with different lubrication needs? No.
The engine has high heat and bearing loads, the tranny has high surface loads, and the primary has a chain but also the wet clutch.
I've tried HD's Syn3 in all three holes, and it sucks! Sounds like I have marbles in the engine.
Just because it has been posted to death and up and again, just suffice it to say choose a good name brand oil, for the specific mechanical application.

Just for ***** and giggles: I currently use Mobile-1 Vtwin 20/50 in the engine, Redline heavy duty shockproof in the tranny, and B&M Trickshift in the primary.
Mobil 1 15W50 in the motor, Amsoil 75W90 extreme duty in the tranny, and Valvoline synthetic ATF in the primary. So far, I'm very happy w/ the way the bike runs.
