Well went to Myrtle beach Spring Rally. My wife and I pulled into the parking gargage I went one way she went the other. She found a better spot so I moved mine. Got over there and was sitting talking a bit and decided to lean over and park when low and behold I didn't put my side stand down. So there I was laying on the ground under my new 06 wide glide. The only thing that got scratched was my primary cover plate. What do I have to do to replace this? Is it just unscrewing the old one and putting on the new one, or is there a gasket or anything else to fool with?
It has a red oring rubber gasket that you can re-use if you are careful and retorque the screws back on in the pattern specified in the service manual. I got engine guards for mine because I know I'm gonna do that sooner or later. There are 2 kinds of people, those who have dropped their bike and those who are going to.
