Unhappy Chrome Switch Housings - Need Help

I started to install my chrome switch housings I've had laying around for several months. I'm not sure if they're HD or LD (Low Dollar), but there are no instructions with them. I opened up my Shop Manual to the right section on dis-/assembly, but the manual seems to totally ignore the fact that the front turn signal wires pass thru both lower housings. I decided to reassemble the black housings and settle for just installing the chrome master cylinder, Buckshot levers, and Diamondback braided brake line (bleeding that sucker was a major PITA). Tonight at work I searched the Forum for some good step-by-step instructions, or at least how to handle the signal wiring...no luck. Next, I went to Kuryakyn, found their housings, and read their online instructions...again, no mention of how to handle the signal wires; bastages!

Now I'm thinking that maybe I should just incorporate a signal relocation with the chrome housing changeover. I haven't decided for sure, but I'm pretty sure I can search up plenty of threads on moving the signals to the lower tree clamps.

In case I decide to leave them on the mirror stems, does anyone have their HD Housings install instructions that address the signal wiring, and would you be able to scan the pages and email them to me? I'd appreciate any help and/or tips with this task.

My email is this same userID @ Yahoo.

This isn't the answer your looking for, But I went thru the same situation. Just jumped in without the instructions. Well, due to no time at hand, I just installed the kit with the exception on that bottom piece that has the wiring issue. Always thinking I would return to the problem later (found out that this kit is for pre 06'). However I dont even notice any more, almost fits into my Black&Chrome theme.. Doesnt look so good looking up from underneath, but at operating level looks alright..

Fargin Iceholes!

I just checked my 08 Dyna manual. For switch housing replacement it sez to cut and splice the wires to replace the switches. It's probably the same for changing out the switch housing. If you need help I have the necessary stuff and I'm right down the road at exit 107.

Default Chrome switch housing kit instructions

I have the chrome switch housing kit installed at my 2003 FXD. The instruction leaflet is numbered -J00445 and refers to kit #s 70222-96B, 70223-96A and 70228-96B.
There are some figures showing how to deal with the wires. If your kit has one of the above mentioned #s and you're interested, I can try to make a copy and send it to you. Please let me know if I can help you!

Have tried to e-mail twice with HD switch housing install info, E-mail attachment is 10 pages and will have to be sent in increments if you still need it. If any of the instructions made it to you, e-mail me and I will try to try to send the rest.

Winzip is a great compression utility for such applications
