I am looking for feedback on the Mustang 12.5 rear seat vs. the 9" rear seat. I dont ride back there, but what I can tell you is the stock seat is only good for short trips for my wife.
Just to be clear, I will be buying the Mustang Vintage 13.5 solo seat for myself. I want to make sure I get the best seat for her, without making my bike look silly when it is set for 2up.
My wife is tall and thin, 5'10 110lbs at best.
Anyone have any pics of the 12.5 wide rear with a 13.5 standard front saddle?
I've got the 12.5 rear with the 16.5 front, do you want pics of that?
That would be a good reference in case I decide to go with a larger seat for myself. I do like the stock seat and could ride all day long in it so I wasnt thinking of a wider seat for me, do you think that would make it uncomfortable for me?

Hard for me to say. My butt got numb after about 75 miles on the stocker, and I plan on doing 250+ mile trips, so it wasn't going to cut it for me. It looks kinda goofy IMO but I don't really care too much about how the seats look on my bike - that's one area where comfort >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> looks
This post hits a little close to home. I have the Mustang 2-piece seat. Wide Vintage Solo for myself, but the 9" for wifey. She's small and thin, but the seat makes her wiggle after a while.
I had her sit on her seat while I looked to see how her butt 'fit' on the seat. The edge of the seat looks like it digs in right where her butt ends and legs start. 1 extra inch of width on each side would be perfect, so we'll be getting the wider passanger pillion for her.
I have the detachable sissy bar, so switching from solo to either seat will only take a minute. I think the 12" pillion might look a little funny on a 9" fender for everyday use.
I didn't mind/hate the stock seat, but after having the Wide Solo, I couldn't go back to it...
Take a look at my sig, she isnt a La pera, or Mustang or nothing, but this HD Sundowner sure does make my butt feel purty good. And i was told, adds flavor to the vintage look of my FatBob. or what ever that means.
