Don't have the JC Whitney one but I just ordered one from Kuryakyn-

_6280 // $159.99
Electro-Magnetic Cruise Assist (ea)
Fits: '96-'06 H-D Models
Available Summer 2006

Haven't gotten it yet but it looks like it has potential.
They hope to have them available to ship by June.

Isn't putting on a "Cruise Control" similar to "putting a stranger's hand on the throttle"???

I wouldn't even let the hand of some I know touch the throttle!!!

Be careful with what you chose!!! A power on or power off screwup that is annoyance on four wheels can be instant death on two wheels!!!

Just my opinion!!!

I use something called the Throttle Mate It's a tumb lever that attaches to the tension nut.

It's been discussed here before.

sapperw5...try using the throttle lock between your push & pull cables on the bottom of the switch housing. If you do it right, you can get it to hold and release pretty easy with your thumb. I used that on a ride from Phoenix to Dallas and back and it worked really well.

The Throttle Mate attaches to the tension nut/throttle lock. It just provides you with an easier way to lock and unlock the throttle.

Another neat little gadget is the Throttle Boss.Let's you rest the heel of the palm of your hand on a little tab that comes off the outer end of the grip.Lets you maintain speed with your fingers totally relaxed.

Eastern Performance has them for about eight bucks.

Good Luck

Nobody uses the thumbscrew on the factory throttle friction control? Man, I use this to death on my last 2 bikes. I can friction lock a steady speed on the highway with my thumb in 2 turns yet I can close the throttle if I need to.
