I had a plugged tire for about 6000 miles.

Once about 3000 miles it begin to leak slowly. I replugged it without removing the first one and rode on...

Toward the end it began a slow leak again, but I got 9500 miles out of the tire and it was worn out.

Plug it, keep an eye on your air pressure and ride on...

The tire was a stock Harley Dunlop.

I carry a plug kit with me on the road for any long trips now.

Of all the things to worry about out riding, the plug was never one of them...

Plug and go. Check the pressure now and again. If you feel anxious about a plug, spend a few more $$ and have a patch put on the inside.

You can do one of 2 things:

1. get a high speed motorcycle plug put in it (looks like a mushroom and seals real well)

2. Get a vulcanized patch put on it and install a tube in the tire.

Both would be safe....I would do the patch & tube for piece of mind.

Note: I have patched SUV tires with the high speed MC plugs (Sears Auto Center) and driven the tire another 40,000 miles. I had one installed in Key West at Sears and drove 1400 miles home at 80+mph. No leaks.
