Default 2007 FXDL questions

I bought a Low Rider, and am now looking at Wide Glides.
I like the look of the bobbed *** end on em vs the retro which the LR has. I also like the little bit taller handle bars on the WG, and the little longer rake. I like the looks of the Soft Tail but don't want the balanced engine.

Questions being would a WG rear fender from the same year (07) fit my LR, or would a Soft Tail fender fit? Also, how much of a handle bar change can I make before needing new cables? If these changes can be "easily" made, I will opt for this route vs. taking a bath on a trade in.

Thanks in advance,

Bob

Fender can be done

Think it would be cheaper to do the mods than to trade.

We rented a Low Rider in Vegas last winter, and I fell in love.
Harley's pandora of models made my head swim with all the options, so I came home, sold my Shadow, and bought the one I was comfortable with.

Thanks for the link bberck........

You can make a fender fit... just takes elbow grease. As to the cables, if you put on "stock" mini apes (stock on WG/streetbob) you will need cables to fit a wg or stbob.

I just happen to have a full set of cables from an 07 streetbob (throttle/idle/clutch - brake line) that I need to sell now.

I did my bars in two steps, mainly 'cause I wanted to see if I really liked the mini apes first. So I bought the stock 1" bars from a member here, and also all the cables and brake line... ran me about 140 for everything. Rode with those for a couple thousand miles, decided I liked them and went ahead and bought the fat mini apes, full chrome controls and switches. The stock stbob cables and such still worked, but the fat risers were another 2" taller than stock, so cables were a little tight. Last weekend I installed new Barnett Platinum cables and HD Diamondback two piece brake line. I went +4 from my stock FXDC length. Perfect.

Oh yeah, I also spliced in 8" wire extensions because I took my wiring internal to the bars.... required longer wires...
