The problem is, the MoCo doesn't really have to address or remedy serious quality issues like this, as people will just keep buying the bikes. I noticed that the weld on the tank bracket on my '04 WG seemed to have a gap in it. This is the rear bracket that mounts in front of the seat, on the right side. Further inspection showed that there was absolutely ZERO penetration of the weld. Zip, nada, nothing. There's not even any heat distortion of the metal. I guess they had Foreigner's "Cold as Ice" on the PA that day. I showed it to one of the service guys at the dealer, and he said he'd never seen anything like it. Fortunately, I have a friend that's an absolute wizard w/ a TIG torch. He's confident that he keep the surrounding metal (and paint) of the tank cool enough while he lays a nice beat in the gap (after grinding it), that all it will need is some touch-up paint. Fortunately it's in an area that you don't really see unless you look for it. Oh well, just one more thing on the Winter project list.
I had electrical problems (turn signals didn’t work) right out of the box on my bike. Well, after a week or two. Brought it in and they thought they might have fixed it. Well, a few more weeks and the electrical problems were back and worse. No brake lights the second time maybe? I don’t remember. Anyway, had to bring it in a second time and they poured over it for like three days and finally said they found a frayed wire ‘deep in the wiring harness.’ I was scared they were going to have to replace my wiring harness and take my bike completely apart to do it. Turned out that they fixed it after my second trip in to service…….I was thinking Lemon Law too before I knew if they had actually fixed my bike. Sucks to think you pay that much and get one that’s not up to snuff. Good luck on your repairs.
Well dealer says they wont warranty the master cylinder leak says it was over tightened tried to tell them they are the only ones to ever take it off and they must of over tightened it, but that got me no where. As well as the chrome swing arm pivot bolt cover that just fell off, couldn't prove how it came up missing, not enough to convince them to replace it I guess. If this was my new Chevy they wouldn't bat an eye to fix the ****, Harley thinks to well of them self's to take care of there customers no wonder there stock is going to sh*t. This is real irritating.

You're going to have to push.
I've gotten two things fixed because it was the dealers issue, not warranty or mine.
Worse comes to worse, call their office, ask for their insurance information.
Call the company and file a liability claim. They'll perk up real quick then.
Well I decided to try a different dealer since there are two in my area and I was just blown away by the total change in customer service from one dealer to the next. I explained to this dealer "Metro Harley Davidson in Cedar Rapids IA." what was going on with the bike and how "Hawkeye Harley Davidson in Corravile IA" was treating me, and they agreed to fix everything over the phone without even seeing the bike!! They ordered me a entire new master cylinder for up front, not just the cover. They are also replacing the dummy light assy. and the chrome swing arm bolt pivot cover. I asked them about the touch up paint for the frame that moco said I could have done and they said they were just about to do the same thing for some other guy so they would let me look at his and decide if that is the route I want to do or just leave it.
Needless to say I am a much happier camper then I was, but I still feel this shouldnt have ever happend to a less then one year old bike.
