I never cared for the bobbed rear fender so I like this version better. It just needs new pipes, and not 2 into 1. One other thing, I'm not thrilled with the color choices of this years HD lineup at all.
The MOCO is just driving the price point down by replacing all of the chrome with less costly powder coated items, also the rear fender is easier to manufacture. The Lowrider, and the Wide Glide were the high end of the Dyna Glide models and both have essentially been axed in favor of driving down the cost and trying to generate more sales in a slow market. The Super Glide Custom is the last Dyna in the stable that comes with a black and chrome theme. Who knows, the low Rider may be back with the black out treatment next year. I think that the new wide glide will appeal to some but certainly not all. The first 30,000 blacked out bikes were a change but there are now so many of them that they are common and starting to look alike, accept to those that are into the look and can differentiate the subtle differences between them. The old saying that “All things old are new again” still applies, different color paint and chrome will return. In the future they will be called old school and back in demand. As for the new Wide Glide, it is not for me. I will just hang on to what I have.
I would have liked them to use the FXDF rear fender but I'm sure whoever buys one will probably do that swap. If I got one, that would be one mod I'd do.
I never cared for the WG before. This new one is sweet, though! Should it be called a Wide Glide? Probably not, but I really didn't give it a second thought until this poll.
