Besides the lack of chrome, ape hangers and different rear fender - they reduced the lean angles and fuel tank capacity.
I tend to agree they are cutting costs. The Wide Glide was always the bike that had the most chrome from the factory.
In 2008 the Softail Custom looked more like a Wide Glide than the Wide Glide did. For those who like that style, now the Softail is the only way to get it.
I would have to add chrome, apes, rear fender from a Fat Bob to make it look the way I want... But as joe.1955 said... Softail Custom would be easier...
Is the 2008 Mustang a Mustang just because it doesn't look exactly like a 65' Mustang...sure. Each has the Mustang DNA or features. Same with the WG. Bravo to HD for taking it forward..it was getting boring IMHO. Sure there's not alot of chrome on it...the blacked-out thing is happening now. There's things about it I would change if I was in the market for one. If I was replacing my Low Rider I'd consider the Fat Boy Lo...I have to give that the edge over the WG...but my tastes have been known to change!

i love it and if i had to choose between that or my street bob... i would have lost a lot of sleep!
i never did like the bobbed fender from the previous wide glides, so this is a much appreciated change, for me at least. liked the fatbob exhaust when it came out, and like it on the wide glide, but most people put aftermarket exhuast on anyways, i would just ad slip ons with nice baffels. love the turn/tail lights and black rims. its got just enough chrome and just enough black.
but i hat those damn headlights... have to put on a big chrome 7 incher.

There's 40+ years difference between those two. Not 2 years. Hell I wasn't even alive yet when the 65' Mustangs were in full force. But I'm sure if you went from the 65' Mustang to today's version in 67', most Mustang owners wouldn't care for it.
When Jay Leno took over for Johnny Carson, most people said he's ok, but he's not Johnny. They didn't hate Leno, but it wasn't the same.
I like the 10' WG, just think they should have called it something else. To me, it's not a WG.
I LOVE it. The old WG's were great bikes but that Bobtail rear fender - Pah Leez. The fender should contour with the tire. They should have kept the mini-apes but thats easy to change. Love the new rear fender and the old school sissy bar is a nice touch. Nice job on the 34 degree rake as well. As far as the name, seems to me its the only Dyna with the WG front end so what else should it be called ??
I like the looks of it, but I have to say that the "side-mount" license plate looks friggin STUPID. Did anyone else notice that, or was it just me? Disappointed to see that.
Don't get me wrong, there is a place for that and there are ways to make it look good, but having it stick straight out like that looks ridiculous.

As far as I know, either 06+ OR 07+ have 34* in the neck. 2* in the trees. So the '10 has no change from previous years.
