I have a 09 FXDC and the left front running light does not work. The turn signal works fine. I changed the bulb and wiggled wires around but it still does not work. The bike is under warranty but I hate to take it all the way to the dealer for this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would start with a tester of some sorts and check for voltage. If you have nothing then move on to the connector that is conveniently jammed up into the frame under the tank just above the front rocker box......screw it, I would take it in. I can turn a wrench but why tear that far into it when you have warranty?
It's the blue wire. Unplug the other one and don't worry about the running lights. I unpluged mine 3 years ago.
I have a 98 FXD. I have run Kurakyn turn signal mirrors for many years but the chrome and hardware does not hold up in the new versions so I bought Harley turn mirrors in Black. When I got them they had only one wire coming from the mirror and a ground trim ring pigtail that I guess needs to be run under the mirror stem. I have a customized set up which will not me to easily access the plug in the bikes backbone so I was going to just splice and solder the wires, there are three now...running lights...turn signal.....and ground and three of the same on the Kury mirrors stock config. I would like to run the Harley mirrors but cannot see pulling all of my custom hidden wiring...I removed the stock headlight...to get at this plug and to add more wiring to it. What ya think?

I'm not familiar with the older models. I can get at the harness in the backbone with out removing the tank. I pulled each harness out and just unpluged the blue wire from each connector, folded it back and taped it to the harness. If I want the running lights in the future I can hust plug them back in.
