True they have had problems, there were write-ups in American Iron detailing it. The question I have is are the problems affecting the Dyna line. It seems most of the complaints/issues center around the baggers. From what I read it was a heat related liner shift issue.
Unless I missed it I have not seen anyone bring it up in this section. Hell, if you're any good with a wrench you can stuff some aftermarket cylinders on there at the first sign of any problems and not worry about it again.
Get the Dyna..................................they're better than Softails.
Perhaps your right ackman. Not sure I've heard of the problems with the Dyna CVO's. BUT, I don't think I'd want to drop that much coin on one. I'd rather just get a regular dyna and throw in a good 103" kit or something of the sort.
although i love the softail deuce, the price jump justifies the mileage (only 200!?) and the six speed tranny is a beaut on a long trip... that's just my 2 cents.
I have been trolling around here for a while trying to decide which bike to get. Here is what I am looking at: 2004 Screamin' Eagle Deuce (Yellow and Silver) with 25k miles for $12,900 and a 2008 CVO Dyna (Red and Graphite) with 200 miles for $19,000. I am torn on the dollar amount. I can pay for either one, although that $19k is a nice chunk of change. In the past, I averaged about 5k miles a year on my bikes. What would you do?
I would keep looking especially now. I search classifieds on a daily basis and noticed today on eBay some really good deals are starting to pop up on both bikes and cars. Example: low mileage Wide Glide's 06 & 07 (buy it now price of 10,000 each).

Couldn't agree more. Buy a 96 and build it for more power and be money ahead.
