windsheild question
I posted on the other windshield thread about the cycleman50 thing and it turns out that I am the jerk here. Somebody from another board responded right after I offered cycleman50 the vest and I thought it was him and when he did respond that it wasn't him, i thought the wrong thing so I apologize for MY screw-up--jack

Free sample in return for an unbiased opinion is a good idea.
I wish you good luck on your endeavor but since I don't use a windscreen, I have no idea what this thing does.
Jack, thank you for following through on your offer of a vest if I would give my honest opinion of it. I, in a forum, had complained about my head being beaten up by the wind on my Dyna Wide Glide with detachable windshield. One suggestion was to take off the visor on my ½ helmet. That helped. Then Jack offered me a vest to try out.It wasn’t but a few days after being contacted by Jack that my vest arrived. My first impression was very positive at the quality and style. After Fuente’s comment, I was not expecting to be impressed with style, but I was!
I have read most every testimonial and comment about the vest. I disagree with the one testimonial about “being able to smoke a cigarette while ridingâ€, but the rest of them are right on. The flaps come up for me around 40 MPH. Since I live in the country, most of my riding is above that speed.
I have ridden a couple hundred miles so far with the vest. The ride is much more comfortable with my ½ helmet on! I even rode with my regular glasses, rather than my goggles. I could turn my head from side to side without them flying off. Both flaps come up automatically around 40 MPH. The wind is not completely eliminated, but this vest sure makes my ride much more enjoyable. I intend on wearing the vest whenever I ride, so I now have to go to get my club patches sewn on. Thanks Jack.
As I get older (57) I have found that comfort means more and more as time goes by and I made this thing for me, how was I to know that others would feel the same as I do about the vest. Thank you cycleman50 for the report, it really boosted my spirits Ok, let's see how many folks read this windshield post and would like to test and keep an "AeroVest" in return for a report to the group. I will give away 3 vests for reports and if you would like to try one, go to my website www.jacksflaps.com go to the contact section , tell me what you ride and which windshield set-up you have, refer to this board, give me your height, weight, and general build and I will pick the 3 names next week and post them. I use your info to see which bikes and set-ups work best so I am better able to answer "will it work on my bike" questions. Take the arm-across-the-chest-test first so you will know whether the vest is right for you. It works for most but not all so the test answers that question even before you wear the vest, I will respond to each email and answer any questions I can-- cheers and good luck---jack
I am confused here folks, on other boards I got as many as 51 replies about getting a free vest for a report, but only got 2 this time so I will be sending a vest to Scott in Brookfield and Bill in New Rochelle. Please confirm on this board and I will get the vests in the mail.---cheers ---Jack
Thanks Jack,
I'll be on the look out for it and report back here.
Sorry about the doubles, didn't post the first time.
Jack, you may be better off if you post it in another area of this board because this is kind of buried inside a post.
