I won't speak for anyone else here but I'm not living in fear. There's a big difference between being afraid and being prepared. Hope you don't have to learn that the hard way someday.

Its not constant fear we live in, we just don't want to be victim. Have you seen the news here in the states before? Blaze of glory type shootings are on the rise. I for one wouldn't want to be the one cowering in the corner with my family hoping not to get shot next! Most of those shooters aren't expecting return fire....giving a concealed carry citizen a chance to turn the situation around quickly.

I live on an island on the extreme east coast of Canada...
I like guns and I do a lot of hunting...

I've clubbed baby seals for **** sake...

I can legally get a handgun as easily as you guys can in the US....
but feeling so threatened as to carry it around with me all the time..

(to the grocery store for pete's sake)...
