I actually scraped my left mid peg today. Spooked me a little, but not to bad. Damn I LOVE this new stance and feel. I feel like since putting the new SE clutch spring in, and the new bars and mid controls, the bike almost feels like it pulls much harder. Probably just because of the new riding position, but daaaaaaaamn I just LOVE it! So much more fun then before.
Anyway, here's a new fresh pic for those that asked for pics with the mids on.
looks good.. what problems did you encounter putting them back on?
lmao.. all kinds of **** man.
1) One of the two bolts that holds the starter in place was completely stripped and mangled. Apparently someone did a VERY crappy job of trying to put that back in.
2) One of the 5 inner primary bolts SNAPPED on me as I was trying to wrench it out. So my dad tried to drill it and back it out, but it was a NO-GO. So we actually just had to seal the hole with a lot of quicksteel and its been working fine. No leaks or anything thank God.
3) Not really a problem doing the job, but my bike fell off the jack. The ONE time I don't strap it down, it falls off. Go figure. Clutch lever broke and that was all. Just gives me an excuse to add more black items to the bike I guess..
Anyway, it was a bit of a pain in the ***.. It took MUCH longer then what it should have.
It looks good and mean and all business. Now you need to get some tall shocks in the back. I've been running my 01 fxd with the shocks set all the way up and still scrap a peg once in awhile. It's more of getting into the turn at the right time and may never scrape again. Now on my 02 1200 naked bandit if I were to scrape I'd be changing my shorts.
It's good to hear how you feel about your mids and bars. I was tempted to put forwards on but after riding a Fat Bob at the dealer I was convinced to leave the mids on. And when I changed the bars in my sig to Nightster ones this weekend, I can't believe the difference. It's the definitely the right combination for me, at least.

+1
Adrian, I had the lowered progressives when I converted back and scraped both pegs every corner and tailpipe around some - be careful thats why i ended up snapping an exhaust stud from going around an offcamber corner
Im back to the stock shocks set at their firmest - and still scrape on about half of the corners - considering going to 13" works or something when/if I can afford them
we'll see - glad youre likin the new position! bike looks tuff
