I have an '02 T-sport. Bought it last year with 4,500 miles on the ticker. Has about 7,500 now.
The previous owner installed some HD progressive shocks in the rear, lowering it a bit. Seems to ride fine, but i did get the stock shocks with the bike. Maybe i should put them back on. ?
It also came with a quick release windshield, but i got the fairing with it also. I had it on there once, but i didnt care for the look.
Your guys' bikes look good with the shorter shield tho. Maybe time to try it out again.
Also has 12" mini apes and foward controls. Guess it wasnt set up for "sport", maybe more cruising. I have all the mid control parts if i want to go back to that.
All in all, I like it. It's my first harley, and i didnt really know anything about it being a rare sport model. I've always had fast bikes in the past, so i don't really think of this as being "fast", but it goes pretty good. My last bike was a Vmax, so, not quite on the same level as that.
Did a 700 mile trip up the lake michigan shoreline last weekend. Bike was flawless, and i was pretty comfortable the whole trip.
I guess it's a keeper.
No wonder I could not find a FXDXT, you guys have got all of them. That's fine I got the OG, 99 FXDX and love it, second owner 35000 miles on it. Took aftermarket shocks off to put stocks back on. Just added national cycle hard bags and love them. I would suggest everybody buy them (sscustomcycle.com). Plan on paint and maybe engine upgrades. Anybody got any good suspension upgrades.

Fork brace and race tech springs and gold valves made a big difference for me. Also hear the ricor emulators are very good.

i would personally put the shocks back on. are you interested in selling the fairing?
My grandpa past away in 2008. He always rode Suzuki's and Kawasaki's from what I could remember growing up. I guess he did have a BMW too. About 7 years before he past away, he bought his first Harley. 2001 T-sport in green suede pearl. Its a gorgeous bike. He put about 15,000 on it before he had to stop riding. When he past my cousin bought it from grandma and road it for another 9500. Plasti-dipped it black on the tank, fenders, engine guard and tank trim. Rear tire gone and front on its way out. Fork seals leaking and it needed new brakes. Plus a leaking rear shock. Even with all the things needed to be done, I am proud to call it mine now. Plasti-dip gone, new tires and battery, fairing reinstalled, with fork seals, brakes, and shocks soon to be done. It looks just like grandpa left it. I am really pumped to take it out riding this summer, especially since its my first HD as well. And with all the great comments about this model I'm really glad I picked it up.

How hard was it to remove the plasti-dip? What did you use?
