Just curious... has anyone tried using the braded hose covers for their cables and other stuff? They are cheap through Summit Racing, or other automotive stores. As I said before, this is my first Harley. I almost crapped my pants when I was looking at braided cables for my bike. Just thinking about swapping all of my cables, then deciding mmmm, how about taller bars!!
I do not have the bike yet, so I have no idea what I am talking about (yet). I have to wait until Jan to return to the states where my new FXDLI will be waiting, so all I can do is think about this stuff on all of these sleepless nights. I think my wife is already sick and tired of hearing about it, and I don't even have possesion of it yet!
I don't know, just a thought on the cables. May not be the real thing, but it sure would allow me to do other changes before coming back to purchase real cables.
I know what you mean. I took my bike to a Harley dealer to put on a set of pull back handle bars. I did this becouse when I went to install them my self the dam cables were to short. It cost me just under $1k and I supplied the bars.
Save your money........braided cable covers will not enhance your bike. Once you take delivery, take your time on the accessories........you need a plan. Start with the really fundamental items, like maybe a windshield, fork bag to carry little items in, new grips and pegs, etc.
BTW, the craziness has just merely begun................
You're talkin' about the fake covers that just slip over the originals? If so, they don't look too good after a while and don't look real even when new.
