i have the SE Heavy breather.......like the look plus .. little known fact, damn thing works great as a frame slider... saved the whole side of my bike from severe roadrash.....
Definitely hadn't considered the frame slider part of the equation...
Very true. Not many ways to customize the look of the Heavy Breather. I think the HB may look a little to high perf and modern for the classic style of the Heritage. Since the "look" is the only deciding factor, I believe I'll get a round filter. Now I gotta get Mascman to do a clean trim job on My cover!!!
Thanks for the compliment.
I am not the first to trim the cover...MUD has done a ton for members here. PM him and maybe he'll do yours.
Your bike definitely needs the round filter IMO. You can get a round filter cover for when it rains.
I fitted the SE because I like the original cover. I don't think there's any real difference in performance whatever you fit. It's all down to looks and personal choice. The problem is they all look good. I'm happy with mine but if I had to change I'd choose the heavy breather.
That's the problem! There are Too many choices!

6'5" with a 36" inseam. I was on the bike just a few minutes ago and tried to visualize what it'd be like with something different on there. I don't think any of the styles will be in the way. I might stain my jeans with an oily exposed element if I wasn't careful, the inside of my thigh gets close.
Just to throw a wrench into your thought process but have you seen the Kury High 5, yet?
Next door neighbor has one and for me, next to the RDS AC I think it's the next best looking and half the price or less.
Probably one of the most functional, It has the 360* filter with a cover and an element on the top part that's normally covered for more air flow.
the roland sands sticks out a little more than stock. its not a problem with my mid controls but ive got a sore knee with my feet on the highway pegs and hitting some bumps
You didn't throw a wrench, you showed me my new air filter set-up! That's it! I had not seen the Kuryakyn yet... I think that's Exactly what I was looking for! Awesome! Thanks! Ordering it tomorrow!
EDIT: Didn't wait 'til tomorrow. Found it on Ebay and bought it.
