A friends 06 Dyna while riding down the road will backfire and his lights will go out and then will all of a sudden take back off and run again for awhile. Then out of nowhere it will do it again. It is like you turn off the ignition switch and then turn it back on. Each time it will backfire. It does it for about 2 seconds then it will take back off and run till the next time. He called the Harley shop and they told him it was probably an ejector under the seat but that don't make sence as to why the lights would go off. I'd come more to think it would be in the ignition switch. Anyone have this problem or any ideas? Thnaks for the help!
Sounds like something electrical to me. And i have heard of guys on here and other places having crazy issues like that because there battery wires came loose and they were loosing ground and power now and then.

yup... battery connections are loose. when your bike quits the battery and connection will stop moving and thus allowing current flow. then it will wiggle enough to drop the current and shut the bike down.
might want to try just a dab of blue loctite on the nut.
Mine was the battery connections. Happened while I was running 95mph down the autobahn. Was not a nice feeling knowing that there were cars coming up that were doing over 100mph and I was slowing down.
