I want to replace the 2 dashboard bolts...

I just replaced my leather tank bib with a chrome dashbord extention and I think it looks great. I must admit I AM a somewhat chromatose chromaholic. stock pic -----> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H-D-C...=p4506.c0.m245 More pics below...

Problem is those 2 dull dashboard bolts... Has anybody found anything to replace those, either in a chrome bolt or even a spike, a skull or anything but those aluminum hex bolts?

Where did you get them?

I had left overs from my nacelle kit. They were fine thread but with the clip nuts I used I was able to get them to go in.

I took my stock ones to my hardware stores chrome section, matched up the thread pitch and length and wound them in. Easy as pie.

If you have an Ace Hardware close by, they should have some polished stainless that will work.

I replaced them with Stainless Allen Heads from Lowes, I have replaced a lot of exposed bolts with stainless. They all look alike now.

Funny to see this thread because I was on vacation this past week and I had to leave my bike outside. We had a little rain and it was just enough to cause slight surface rust under the left side bolt on the dash. I was planning on taking it apart this week and cleaning out the rust and using some chrome paint to touch up the area and then replace the 2 bolts with some chrome ones.
