hi i just got a new 2010 black denim fatbob and i have a couple of questions--#1 i removed the baffels and took out the fiberglass packing, put the baffels back in and reriveted them i did not mod the baffels at all(just incase i want to put the packing back in)is this OK WILL IT HURT ANYTHING OR VOID THE WARRENTY ON MY NEW BIKE????ALSO this bike rattles from the motor sometimes when at idle it sounds like a lifter tick,,it drives me crazey the bike only has 500 miles on it should it have ticks and things??? SHOULD I CHANGE THE OIL EARLEY WILL THIS HELP??
You shouldn't hear a lifter tick, some will sound like a sewing machine. Check to see if anything is interfering with the frame, have the dealer look at it. Pipes should not void warrantee unless problem directly attributed to the mod.
I wouldn't worry about modifying the baffles affecting your warranty.
As far as a ticking/sewing machine kind of noise, seems to be a twin cam thing. I changed to fully synthetic amsoil 20-50 at around 700 miles, and that quieted down the valve train some.
talked to the dealer they said bad idea removing the fiberglass muffler packing so i ordered a set of rush with 1.75 baffels NO TUNING NEEDED as for the lifter tick the noise is coming from the cluch case for sure only when idleing sounds like gear backlash ???

Typical dealer bullshit. The fiberglass is in there to dampen noise and provide some insulation, that's all. Removing it won't affect the performance one bit. It just gives you a little bit throatier exhaust sound--but nowhere near as loud as the Rush mufflers you're going to put on.
I have a friend who de-riveted his mufflers, removed the cat and drilled out the baffles. It was a lot louder but didn't sound right. I fitted Rush which give a deep rumble and sound great.
The rattle may be the heat shields. Mine rattle a bit but I no longer notice them. So does the gas cap.
