I personally like the lines of the bike better with it on than with it off (I think it is the drag bars that are the issue without the windshield...probably getting rid of those eventually anyway). The install was extremely easy...It is a little light weight so I am not sure about durability but we will see...and he11, for fifty bucks how much complaining can I do????
I've had both. The tinted one was on my Nightster, and the clear on my St Bob. I put them on when I'm going on a longer ride, or if the weather is getting cooler. The only thing I've had to do is check the bolts every once in a while. Had a loose one and the windshield moved when I got over 50. Tightened it up at the next fuel stop and didn't have any further problems.
I bought one of these a while back. It worked well for me but my wife bought me a HD Quick disconnect shield for Christmas so I no longer use the one I bought from ebay. Anyone can have it for shipping cost and a few extra dollars so I can put fuel in the bike. Just PM me.

I would disagree with DynaMightBuzz, for $50 you CAN go wrong. Watch the video, then check with the supplier of your 'shield. I've heard that all H-D 'shields are poly.
I am in the market for a cheap bolt on handlebar windshield. I'm stuck with a handlebar mount setup since I have an aftermarket Springer. While looking at the one in this thread I found what looks like the same one only a little bigger. A few people mentioned sturdiness. Do you think a slightly larger one is pushing it? Or are they pretty much the same, and a little bit larger shield would be pretty much no different? Please advise.

I have the same shield, and for me it works great. I only put it on for long trips, and can have it on and off the bike in minutes with no hardware left on the bike.
Aloha jstreet...
What is the brand/model of the (looks like) copper 1/4 fairing on your 2008 in the picture? Thanks.
